The second edition of Composer Day took place on and around Saturday, June 17, 2023. This remarkable event, a one-of-a-kind celebration in Europe, showcased a national Day of the Composer. Throughout the festival, over 100 talented composers who were actively shaping the musical landscape in the Netherlands were given the spotlight they deserved. The event was a grand opportunity to honor their immense contributions to the world of music.
To celebrate this day, a new work by Willem Jeths titled "Ishq" was broadcasted on the highly anticipated program of NTR Zaterdag Matinee, hosted by Hans Haffmans. The piece had previously been performed by the Calefax Reed Quintet during their concert tour, "Paulien Cornelisse in Calefax-land" (Read more).
