Arcate was originally composed for string quartet in 1990. This version for string orchestra was written with the financial support of the Fonds voor de Scheppende Toonkunst. On the occasion of the 15th Festival des Nations Européennes, Munster. Dedicated to Agnieszka Duczmal and the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra of the Polish Radio.
