About the event
Violinist Jacobien Rozemond and accordionist Renée Bekkers found each other a few years ago in Esther Apituley 's successful production Vivaldi Code Rood and immediately clicked. The special combination of violin and accordion lends itself perfectly to the sultry sound of Argentine tango and Spanish music, which can be heard in the music of Piazzolla and De Falla.
In the prelude to Christmas, there is also a Wiegenlied from the Deutsch Yiddische Kantate by Ivan Fischer, sung by Jacobien and subtly played on her violin.
The Ave Maria by Efraim Podgaits turns out to be a wonderful find for this occupation.
