About the event

Antony Hermus, guest conductor and great friend of the Residentie Orkest, returns to The Hague with a spectacular program that explores the boundaries of the symphonic repertoire. The concert opens with Short Ride in a Fast Machine by John Adams—a driving, breathtaking ride in an impossibly fast sports car, with brass and percussion propelling the sense of speed and excitement.


Next comes the brand-new Piano Concerto No. 3 by Willem Jeths, written for the Residentie Orkest and pianist Ellen Corver. With this work, Jeths once again proves why he is regarded as the godfather of Dutch composers. About his new piece, Willem Jeths writes:
